An old favorite caught my eye today in hand-lettered form on the back wall of a old corner market. Designed in 1973 by François Boltana, Stilla has become popular again in large display type. The letters are just as nice as the numerals – especially the wild lowercase g with it’s completely filled-in lower bowl and the whimsical uppercase W.
Plus, one of my favorite places in New Orleans uses it proudly.
