A while ago, I salvaged a random bunch of loose wood type letters from a printing company in Iowa. They were made between 1820 and 1910 and hadn’t seen the light of day since about 1920. I wanted to take a kind of reverse-typography approach by assembling the letters to showcase the craft more than the product. I immediately found the letters themselves to be much more beautiful than whatever they might have printed. You should see them in person.
